2024 Foundation (Prep) Enrolments will commence from Term 2, 2023

Thank you for considering Thomas Mitchell Primary School for your child’s primary school years. 

The Department of Education has released a new statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline.  The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Thomas Mitchell Primary School.

You will be able to determine your school zone by accessing Findmyschool.vic.gov.au 

What you need to do:

1. If you live in the Thomas Mitchell Primary School Zone or have a child at our school who will still be enrolled in 2024, you should access and complete the Student Enrolment  Form 2024.  A copy of your child’s birth certificate and immunisation certificate must be submitted at the time of enrolment, we will also need to sight proof of your residential address.
2. If you live outside the Thomas Mitchell Primary School zone, you will need to access and complete the Student Application Form 2024 along with proof of your residential address.
3. If you are not able to access these forms online, you are welcome to visit the school office and collect a hardcopy.
4. Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 28 July 2023
5. You will be notified of the outcome of your application by Friday 11 August 2023. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should contact our school to accept the offer by Friday 25 August 2023
6. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2023
7. Your child will start Foundation (Prep) from Tuesday 30 January 2024.

Enrolment applications submitted after 28 July 2023 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.

School Tours

School tours are currently being conducted each Monday and Friday morning at 10.00am during the school term. Please come to our reception area, sign in as a visitor and one of our Assistant Principals will be available to take you for a tour of our school and answer any questions you may have.  We ask you to follow COVID safe practices when visiting our school.
